I’m Dr James Buchli — a professional guitarist with a PhD in rock and metal guitar performance and a Bachelor of Music with First Class Honours in contemporary guitar performance. I focus on working with:

Intermediate to advanced players. I also welcome motivated beginners whose goals and interests align with the rock, metal, and blues styles that I teach.

Adults who are serious about levelling up. At this time, I am focusing on teaching adults and am not currently taking on students under 18.
My goal is to customise every lesson so you can see results, express yourself musically, and develop a style that’s fully your own. Lessons are neurodivergent-friendly, with teaching adapted to your individual learning style.
